Rotary Friction Welding Parts

Friction welding is a method of welding that utilizes the heat generated by the friction of the workpiece contact surface. Its core function is to achieve a plastic state of the workpiece through frictional heat, and then complete the welding under pressure. This method does not require filling materials and is suitable for welding many metal materials, especially for welding high-strength alloys and refractory metals. ‌

The specific application areas of friction welding include high-tech fields such as aviation, aerospace, and nuclear energy. Friction welding is widely used in these fields due to its high efficiency, high quality, and strong adaptability. For example, in the aerospace field, friction welding can be used to manufacture key components of aircraft and rockets, as it can provide reliable connections and withstand extreme working conditions.

In addition, friction welding also has some technical advantages. Due to the fact that the heat generated during the welding process mainly comes from the friction of the workpiece itself, it can reduce energy consumption and environmental pollution. At the same time, the welding joint quality of friction welding is high, which can provide good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.

RFW is a solid-state process in which one part is rotated at high speed and is pressed against another part that is held stationary.

The heating of the material is caused by friction work and creates a permanent connection.

after the temperature reach to melting point, two parts will be joint together,

after testing, the strength is better than only welding around circumference, especiall for the pull rod parts,

The parts were made from a series of processes, including forging, cold drawing bar, and rotary friction welding.

We have been using RFW process to manufacture agricultural machinery parts for some tractor manufacturer.
